Lightweight Rooftop Soil

Lightweight Rooftop Soil is a specialised growing medium designed for  green roofs, and elevated landscape zones where weight, drainage, and plant performance must be carefully balanced. Formulated with low-density mineral aggregates and organic matter, this soil supports healthy vegetation while reducing structural load, making it ideal for rooftop gardens, terrace landscapes, and multi-level commercial developments. The blend can be tailored to align with project-specific requirements.

If you're designing a green roof or specifying rooftop soil for a commercial project, Daisy’s Lightweight Rooftop Soil delivers the drainage, structure, and compliance needed to support long-term planting success.

Lightweight Soil Technical Guidelines

Daisy’s Lightweight Rooftop Soil is formulated to balance plant performance with structural load limits, delivering a low-density growing medium ideal for podium planters, green roofs, and other elevated landscapes. With an approximate bulk density of 800 kg/m³ this blend supports healthy root development, drainage and aeration, while helping projects meet building weight restrictions. The mix is designed for soil performance in urban landscape applications, with reference to texture, permeability, pH, organic content, and wettability. Final specifications can be adapted to suit individual project requirements, and lab test reports are available upon request.
