Gibco's Liquid Lime Replacement is a chloride free performance admixture for masonry that replaces traditional hydrated lime with an easy to use liquid formula. Laboratory tests comparing the product with cement and lime mortars have shown it to surpass them in both plastic and hardened state properties, across measures such as water retention, setting time, compressive strength, freeze and thaw resistance, sulfate resistance, drying shrinkage and flexural bond strength. In the plastic state it prolongs board life and setting time, creates a uniform gel like consistency, improves workability and adhesion, and reduces the water needed. In the hardened state it offers freeze and thaw resilience, stronger flexural bond durability, protection against permeability, more consistent colour and higher megapascal values.
