Corten is a weathering steel that forms a stable, rust-coloured patina on the surface as it's exposed to the weather. That patina protects the steel underneath, so it doesn't need painting or sealing. Our Redcor range gives you that natural rusted look that suits native, rustic and modern gardens alike, and only improves as it ages.

As a rough guide: 75-100 mm suits lawn edges and shallow borders, 150-185 mm is the all-rounder for most garden beds, and 230 mm and above is for deeper beds, raised areas and holding back more soil. Our Shapescaper Redcor profiles run from 75 mm to 590 mm, so you can match the edge to the job.

Yes. Steel edging flexes by hand to follow curved beds, circular gardens and flowing paths, and the profiles join end to end for a continuous line. For tight 90-degree corners we also stock pre-formed internal and external corner pieces

The Shapescaper system uses L-profile stakes that drive into the ground behind the edging and lock each length in position. Taller profiles use longer stakes for extra hold. It's a straightforward job for a DIYer with basic tools.
