N16 reinforcing bar is a 16mm diameter deformed steel bar supplied in a 6.0m length. Also known by the older Y16 designation, it is a grade 500N deformed bar manufactured to Australian Standard AS/NZS 4671 for use in reinforced concrete.
The ribbed surface bonds firmly with concrete, helping structural elements carry load and resist cracking. At 16mm, N16 is a heavier gauge bar suited to more demanding structural work such as footings, beams, columns, retaining walls, and slabs that require higher strength reinforcement.
