N12 reinforcing bar is a 12mm diameter deformed steel bar, supplied here in a handy 300mm length. Also known by the older Y12 designation, it is a grade 500N deformed bar manufactured to Australian Standard AS/NZS 4671 for use in reinforced concrete.
The ribbed, deformed surface keys into the concrete to develop a strong mechanical bond, helping the finished element resist cracking and carry load.
