1. Prepare the sub-base: Excavate to a depth of 75 to 100 mm and remove all vegetation, roots and debris.
2. Lay road base: Compact a 50 to 60 mm layer of road base using a plate compactor, ensuring a slight fall for drainage.
3. Add a screeding layer: Top with a 30 to 40mm, level layer of crusher dust to create a smooth layer for the turf to sit on.
4. Roll out the turf: Lay the turf in the desired direction, allowing it to acclimatise for a few hours before trimming.
5. Join the rolls: Butt edges together and secure joins using jointing tape and adhesive, keeping the pile direction consistent across all pieces.
6. Secure the edges: Fix the perimeter using turf pins or nails spaced approximately every 150 to 200 mm.
7. Apply infill: Spread silica sand infill evenly across the surface using a drop spreader, at the rate specified for the product.
8. Brush the pile: Power broom or stiff broom the turf against the direction of the pile to stand the fibres upright and settle the infill.

• Turf rolls are heavy and awkward to carry. Do not attempt to lift or carry a roll as a single person.
• Always use two or more people, or appropriate lifting equipment, when moving or unrolling turf.
• Store rolls flat or upright on a stable surface to prevent rolling or falling.
• Wear appropriate footwear and gloves when handling rolls to avoid injury.
• Take care when cutting turf, use a sharp utility knife and cut from the backing side only.
